At St James Baptist Church, our doors are open to every soul seeking to welcome Jesus Christ into their hearts. We foster a community where we teach individuals to show their love for The Lord and for one another through worship and community service. Members of our church are those who build relationships with our family through community groups, volunteer activities, worship services or learning. We welcome all individuals seeking God’s love. At St James Baptist Church, we offer congregants of all ages a chance to give back by joining our wide range of ministries. Our Children Nursery allows current members or newcomers to be involved with our ongoing mission of spreading the teachings of Jesus Christ to our ever-growing community. Giving back is ingrained into our philosophy and it’s at the root of our very being.

Since 1934, St James Baptist Church has provided the community with all the tools, wisdom, and resources they need to keep them grounded. Our Worship Services was established with an aim to offer congregants the chance to give back to the community. Each of our ministries is as strong as a family and bring congregants closer together.
Services are Sundays at 11:00 a.m.
Ministry Bible Study
A Wide Range of Initiatives
Join our Ministry Bible Study ministry to discover how the work of St James Baptist Church affects the community and the world at large! With our Ministry Bible Study in place, congregants have the chance to participate in a variety of innovative service missions. Joining a ministry is a perfect opportunity for you to get closer to other members of our congregation, and of course to honor the sacrifices and teachings of the Lord.

St. James Baptist Church celebrates 83 years!
February 2, 2017
The vision for St. James Baptist Church began February 2, 1934 when 18 members under the direction of Pastor J. N. Ferguson decided to create a place of worship for Spencer community. It was not until July 9, 1939 that the small congregation proudly marched into their newly built church home! Since then St. James Baptist Church flourished into the strong congregation it is today. We are rejoicing 83 years in the ministry and look forward to many more!
